Yoga Therapy

Yoga therapy consists of the application of yogic principles, methods, and techniques to specific human ailments. In its ideal application, Yoga therapy is preventive in nature, as is Yoga itself, but it is also restorative in many instances, palliative in others, and curative in some instances. Yoga therapists prescribe specific regimens of postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques to suit individual needs.

Yoga therapy can address a range of concerns such as, chronic pain, neurological issues, mental health, the prevention and management of chronic illness as well as aging.

But yoga therapy goes beyond conditions & individual systems or body parts to address the individual’s overall wellbeing.

Clients are usually not coming to learn yoga, but to get help with or relief from some symptom or health condition that is troubling them. In most cases, the instruction focuses on their condition and how the yoga techniques can help them feel better or improve their function, rather than on the techniques or methods of yoga practice.
